The Department of Energy (DOE) 2020 Walk-in Cooler & Freezer (WICF) regulation is the most significant regulatory change in the history of commercial refrigeration (click here for more details). As such, Heatcraft is redesigning its products to meet minimum DOE mandated Annual Walk-in Energy Factor (AWEF) requirements

Below is critical information regarding phase out of Heatcraft legacy models and associated ProSelect™ quoting software.

ProSelect Phase Out

  • As of October 18, 2019, customers will NOT be able to price and quote condensing units and package systems in ProSelect. Unit Coolers and remote condensers will be available in ProSelect through March 2020.
  • ProSelect users will still have access to quote documents for condensing units and package systems previously created in ProSelect but will not be able to modify the unit configuration or quote. Pricing for air-cooled condensing units will be invalid on and after October 18, 2019.

2020 Models

  • New 2020 models will only be available in THE HUB. New models will not be available in ProSelect.
  • Customers can start ordering new 2020 condensing unit models in THE HUB starting October 8, 2019.
  • New 2020 unit cooler models will be available to quote in March 2020.
  • NOTE: The DOE 2020 minimum AWEF requirements apply to air-cooled condensing units manufactured after January 1, 2020. Any product manufactured in 2019, regardless of whether it’s the legacy or new design, will be compliant*.

Important Last Quote and Order Date Information

The last quote and order dates for Heatcraft legacy condensing unit models vary by product line and forecasted (as of August 1, 2019) to occur around the end of October, 2019. However, these dates are subject to change as customers place advance stocking orders to prepare for the regulatory change. Contact your Heatcraft Sales Representative for the latest dates.
