Heatcraft Scores Gold & Silver ACHR News 2014 Dealer Design Awards

Stone Mountain, GA, July 21, 2014 – For an unprecedented second year in a row, Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration has received both gold and silver awards for product design excellence in the 11th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine. This year’s independent panel of contractors recognized the Heatcraft Lead Lag control system as the Gold Winner, while awarding the Heatcraft Split System controller as the Silver Winner, both in the Refrigeration and Ice Machines category.

News Publisher Mike Murphy stated, "These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions."

The Heatcraft Lead Lag control system delivers to the Refrigeration industry an innovative integrated thermostat and staging control solution to provide improved refrigeration system control and staging for both foodservice and cold storage applications. Refrigeration system reliability is increased by equalizing run times on multiple system applications and eliminates unnecessary compressor starts. Users realize tighter, more uniform temperature control of the refrigerated space, as well as increased product integrity by limiting temperature fluctuations and increased energy efficiency through elimination of multiple compressors starting simultaneously. Staging control complexity is reduced, saving the technician time and the end-user installation and maintenance costs.

Designed with service technicians in mind, the Heatcraft Split System controller provides the commercial refrigeration industry with a new time saving, easy-to-use electronic control that combines three mechanical components into one electronic solution to reduce defrost complexity, a 66% reduction in required components for defrost operation. The controller enhances the way technicians interact with Heatcraft refrigeration equipment through the use of an easy-to-use electronic control. With the elimination of wiring to the condensing unit for defrost operation, installation time is reduced. Additional features include the capability to preprogram the controller with parameters to suit specific environments and remote monitoring capability with optional Modbus protocol adapter.

“Heatcraft continuously dedicates its research and development resources to design products that holistically add value to the Refrigeration industry, whether it is through ease of installation and enhanced serviceability, increased energy efficiency and refrigerant reduction or unique function solutions that solve end-use customer problems,” stated Larry Golen, VP and GM of Heatcraft Refrigeration Products. “We are proud to be recognized with gold and silver ACHR News Dealer Design Awards once again for our innovative products and solutions that are developed to exceed our customers’ expectations.”

Heatcraft has previously been recognized with multiple awards for its innovative products. Winning entries in the Dealer Design Awards were featured in the July 21, 2014, issue of The ACHR News, which is distributed nationally to over 33,000 HVACR contractors, wholesalers, and other industry professionals.
