Heatcraft Refrigeration Wins 2010 Readers’ Choice

Stone Mountain, GA – March 15, 2011 – The advantages of refrigerants with a lower global warming potential (GWP) is driving increased interest in the CO2 unit cooler line from Heatcraft Refrigeration Products. The CO2 unit cooler line is a winner of the 2010 RSES Journal Readers’ Choice Award, as selected by the magazine’s readers.

Heatcraft Refrigeration Products developed the CO2 unit cooler line to help supermarkets meet their sustainability and operational objectives. The CO2 unit coolers either eliminate HFCs or restrict them to a machine room — resulting in reduced impact in the event of a system leak, as well as a decrease in carbon emissions. CO2 costs are currently 90 percent less than traditional refrigerants, and use of CO2 also reduces carbon footprint with a GWP of 1 versus a GWP of 3,800 for R-404A.

The CO2 unit cooler line includes 62 models in low and medium profiles to suit a variety of installation applications.
