Heatcraft Refrigeration Products Manufactures 50 Condensing Units in Record Time for Hurricane Katrina and Rita Relief

Stone Mountain, GA (October 7. 2005) – Employees from Heatcraft Refrigeration Products Tifton, Georgia facility joined together to expedite the manufacturing of 50 1-6 HP condensing units for the rebuilding of Baton Rouge, Louisiana businesses that were hit by the wrath of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.

The Tifton facility utilized an 85-person volunteer crew over the weekend to assemble the 50 units and have them shipped to Baker Distributing in Baton Rouge. The process normally takes seven to nine days, however, the team rallied to deliver the units in less than 48 hours. The equipment is now being sent to surrounding area businesses in need of rebuilding and remodeling.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the communities and businesses affected by this disaster," stated Steve Dyer, director of operations for the Tifton plant. "We know there is a long, slow recovery ahead, but this is one way that Heatcraft Refrigeration Products can support the rebuilding process and help get businesses back on their feet."

Heatcraft Refrigeration Products opened its Tifton facility in 1975 as Larkin Coils and in 1990, merged with Bohn, Chandler and Climate Control to become the Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration division of Lennox International Inc. The Tifton facility is a thriving manufacturing plant with 250 full-time employees.
