PRODUCT ADVISORY – Flood Damage
Due to the unfortunate natural events that have recently taken place, it is necessary that Heatcraft Refrigeration Products LLC advise owners and operators of our refrigeration equipment that submersion of such equipment by floodwaters renders the equipment unsafe for use. The effects of flood damage to both electrical and mechanical components cannot be field repaired. Any Bohn, Larkin, Chandler, or Climate Control equipment that has been subjected to flooding, no matter how briefly, must be replaced. This would include units still in the box as well as installed equipment. Failure to replace any equipment that has been damaged due to floodwaters poses a serious safety risk in both the near and long-term.
While we at Heatcraft Refrigeration Products regret this unfortunate situation, damage to equipment due to any natural disaster is not a circumstance for warranty coverage. The owner’s insurance provider always handles such matters. Heatcraft Refrigeration Products will however extend our customer service and technical assistance as needed to insure that all customers, service contractors and end users receive the timely support needed.
