Heatcraft Wins Gold & Silver ACHR News 2013 Dealer Design Awards

Stone Mountain, GA, August 12, 2013 – Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration has once again kept its tradition alive, receiving awards for product design excellence in the 10th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration (ACHR) News magazine. This year’s independent panel of contractors recognized the Heatcraft Composite Mechanical Enclosure as the Gold Winner, while the Heatcraft Slim Contour unit cooler took Silver, both in the Refrigeration and Ice Machines category.

The News Publisher, Mike Murphy, stated, "These awards give us an unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions."

Mounted on supermarket rooftops or mezzanines, the Heatcraft Composite Mechanical Enclosure exhibits many of the features important to the refrigeration industry’s end-users, such as ease of installation, corrosion resistance, fewer seams for water ingress, naturally brighter interior requiring less lighting, thus lowering energy consumption, and a lightweight, robust design. The system requires only refrigerant and electrical connections to be fully operational, providing the flexibility to strategically position the enclosure to reduce refrigerant charge. Additionally, the use of advanced composite materials containing 50% recycled material equates to a 40% reduction in weight, which enables a reduction in structural and installation costs.

The Heatcraft Slim Contour unit cooler, has an innovative, space-saving design that offers enhanced serviceability with removable motor cassettes and maximum cooling performance for foodservice, convenience store and supermarket applications. At less than 11 inches, this unit cooler has a 30% reduction in height compared to traditional unit coolers in the market today, plus with the integration of a unique new coil design, the Slim Contour unit cooler uses up to 40% less refrigerant than standard unit coolers.

“Heatcraft continuously dedicates its research and development resources to design products that holistically add value to the HVACR industry, whether it is through ease of installation and enhanced serviceability, increased energy efficiency and refrigerant reduction or unique function solutions that solve end-use customer problems,” stated Larry Golen, VP and GM of Heatcraft North America. “We are proud to be recognized once again for our innovative products and solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations.”

Heatcraft has previously been recognized with multiple awards for its innovative products. Winning entries in the Dealer Design Awards were featured in the July 22, 2013, issue of The ACHR News, which is distributed nationally to over 33,000 HVACR contractors, wholesalers, and other industry professionals.
