Our 560,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility employs about 500 people from across south-central Georgia. Originally an independent Larkin plant, Tifton merged with Heatcraft Refrigeration Products in 1990 under the Lennox International umbrella. In 2008, an additional building was completed next to the existing plant.
Units manufactured at the site include standard and custom high and low-side systems ranging from one-half horsepower to in excess of 80 horsepower and from 600 BTUH to 250,000 BTUH. In terms of size, this translates to a unit as small as a briefcase to as large as a school bus. Units are designed, built and engineered to order for OEMs, distributors, wholesalers and end-users.
For all products, a Six Sigma-based manufacturing process ensures superior quality, from design to delivery. Extensive training through a partnership with Moultrie Technical College provides an added measure of reliability control.
The Tifton facility has done much to promote manufacturing in Georgia, including active participation in Manufacturing Awareness Week, which provides information to area schools. For these efforts, the State of Georgia named the facility Manufacturer of the Year in the medium-size business category in 2004.
